Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada and raised in the United States. She's worked as an editor since the year 1995. In 2009, when she was in university she started the Feminist Frequency site. As of 2009, this determined young woman was targeted on the internet for her website series on gender in videogames. This attack was not enough to halt her. In fact, it made her more committed to being a feminist and a media critique. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards to recognize her significant contributions to the world of feminism.
